Well, we're safely in Cambridge, after 30-something hours of driving! We arrived Thursday at around noon, and it seems like this place is already home (though a home in which we still often get lost!)
I wanted to share our pictures from the trip, as well as our new apartment. So here you go!
This is after a stop at McDonalds. Charlie got an activity book and a new friend. The new friend was a little scary, but Charlie's bigger so he didn't feel too threatened. He had an oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert (you can see it in his left paw)
Caught him off guard with this one. Muahahaha!
Charlie jammin' to Bryan's iPod. Probably listening to the Beatles.
Checking the map, just to make sure we're not lost.
Charlie LOVED the Goldfish crackers that Chris, Melissa, Russ, and Tonya gave us for the trip. In fact, he hoarded them so much that we barely got any!
OUR NEW APARTMENT
Ok, here's our new apt. It seems much bigger than our old one. We can almost get lost in all the rooms! :)
Living room
This is the back wall. There's a throw over the edge of the couch to hide a battle scar. It took us nearly an hour and a half to get the couch inside, and it came out a bit wounded. :(
This is the front wall. You can see next to the front door we have a buzzer thingie! It's so cool! :)
This is the right wall. You can see here the pillow my boss brought us back from China sitting on the dark colored IKEA couch we got FOR FREE! Score! I'm going to make a slipcover for it. Right now it's navy blue. I think I want it black. But I'm not sure.
Bathroom
This is taken from the doorway. There's a closet to the left and a frosted-glass window to the right.
Obviously, toilet and sink.
Bedroom
Bed, windows, Charlie... this is the wall to the left of the doorway.
This is the closet, to the right of the doorway.
Kitchen
This is our huge kitchen! The entry to the living room is behind me and the bedroom is just off-camera to the right. We've finally busted out the espresso machine twice, by the way, Dupy, and we love it!
The other side of the kitchen. The bedroom is behind me and the living room is off camera left.
Well, it still needs a little bit of work, but at least now it looks like an apartment! We're happy with it! By the way, there's a bed and breakfast just next door if anyone wants to visit... or you can have your pick of couches to sleep on!
